In keeping in line with our company core values, we are writing today to make you aware of increases in postage rates from the USPS, which have taken effect as of July 10th, 2022. Those rate increases will impact the most common sizes of political mail used across the country. Clients should expect to see increases of up to $0.05 for both standard and non-profit mailings. No increases are in place for letter-size mailers (6 x 11). This is the second increase in postage rates we have seen this year, and we commit to remaining on top of any future increases. We will be upfront and transparent when and if USPS rates ever change in an effort to keep you fully informed.
We are also keeping a close eye on the effects of inflation and supply chain issues on paper. These have impacted many union printers nationwide, both on supply and labor. In some cases, we have seen an increase of $0.07 to $0.12, but we are in this together and have made adjustments to ease and absorb those increased costs as much as we can. We remain diligent with our vendors, and once inflation and supply chain tensions have settled, we will adjust accordingly.
All campaign mediums and expenses are seeing an increase in costs, not just direct mail. It’s important to remember that direct mail is the most accurate medium for campaign communications, no matter what your digital vendor tells you, and at the proper run sizes, more scalable financially than broadcast or cable TV.
In the end, find the right balance of all the mediums to achieve your goals.
My team and I are here to answer any questions you may have.
